7/15/2026 WEDNESDAY, FEAST OF ST. BONAVENTURE (1221-1274)

Good day to you all.

Today we remember one of the great theologians and saints of the Franciscan family. St. Bonaventure, though a well-educated person, was also a truly humble and friendly person. It is said in the Franciscan family that “To know him was to love him, to read him is still for us today to meet a true Franciscan and a gentleman.”

St. Bonaventure once wrote, “Come, let us give a little time to folly . . . and even in a melancholy day let us fine time for an hour of pleasure.”

Though Bonaventure was a well-educated and holy man, he did believe that we needed not take life so seriously. We all needed joy in our lives.

Let us that God for such a person who truly is an example of what we all should be.

Peace and All Good,

Fr. Vinnie, fcm and the

Bros and Srs of the

Franciscan House of Prayer.
