Hello, I hope your week went well. A am still having trouble with my computer and had a tech over on Thursday. The computer I have may have seen better days and I may have to get another one. I will be so glade when I use it that I will not have to have a degree in IT from MIT to use it. They say that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I just hope this old dog will be able to learn all the new tricks I need.
Anyway. How do you pray? That can be a very personal question to ask but a question we may need to ask ourselves. And what is it that we pray for?
St. Paul tells us in his letter to the Galatians about how the Holy Spirit prays on our behalf because sometimes we do not know how to pray as we ought, so as Paul tells us. “The groan of the Holy Spirit refers to the Spirit’s deep wordless intercessions on behalf of believers, expressing what cannot be articulated in human language and aligning prayers with God’s will.”
When you think about it we truly like children. A child will ask for this and that, and question WHY if they do not get the answer they were looking for. “Why can’t I have a pony? ” Well, you live on the third floor in a two-bedroom apt. And the child may think or say, “ But we still have a back yard!!”
Sometimes we just need to place our needs before the Father and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. Remember, the Hebrew word for Spirit is Ruach and is a feminine noun. So, it is perfectly OK to refer to the Holy Spirit as She. And like all good mothers, the Holy Spirit will pray in words that we do not know like a mother would speak to the father in words the child does not know. We may not get the pony, but we just might get somthing a whole lot better. Have a beautful and safe day.
