Hello.
I would dare say we all have our special saints to which we turn to in prayer. Mine has been St. Anthony of Padua. When I was in the abbey I took the name Anthony when I entered the novitiate.
St. Anthony has always been the one who I have turned to when I misplaced something as he is the saint that one prays to for the lost. “Anthony, Anthony, come around, something is lost and cannot be found.”
But Anthony is more than someone who is a “human bloodhound”. He was a great theologian and philosopher. He tells us today, “The creator of the heavens obeys a carpenter; the God of eternal glory listens to a poor virgin. Has anyone ever witnessed anything comparable to this? Let the philosopher no longer distain from listening to the common laborer; the wise, to the simple; the educated to the illiterate; a child of a prince to a peasant.”
Something to ponder on his feast. ” Anthony, pray for us. Please help those who are lost find their way home, safe and sound.”
