Good morning, hope all goes well with you and yours.
As I began reading about St. Charles, I began to see that other great saints that I have read seem to be giving the same message, that is it is not so much about what we say as how we live. As St. Anthony of Padua once said, “Our actions speak louder than our words.”
Here St. Charles seems to be reiterating that same message as he tells us as, “Be sure that you first preach by the way you live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring cynical laughter and derisive shake of the head.”
With all these saints of old telling us the same message, might it be time that we put these words of ours into practice? As St. Teresa of Calcutta tells us, “A saint is a sinner who keeps trying.”
